(a) : Project-wise detail of the various projects in Private and Public Sector which are
under consideration in Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for accord of Techno-
Economic Clearance (TEC) as on 28.2.2001 is enclosed at Annexe-I.
(b) : The details of on-going Hydro and Thermal Projects in Maharashtra are given as under :-

Khaperkheda Extn. St.II U-3&4 2x210 Unit-3 was synchronized on 31.5.2000 Unit-4 has been synchronized on 7.1.2001
Dabhol CCGT Ph.II 1444 Combustion Turbo Generator (CTG)- 2A&2B were synchronized on 21.1.2001 and 11.2.2001, respectively. Erection of both CTG 3A & 3B commenced in 5/2000. Oil flushing of CTG 3A & 3B were completed on 17.11.2000 and February 2001, respectively. ST Unit: Hydraulic test of HRSG 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B were completed in 9/2000, 10/2000, 12/2000 and 1/2001; respectively. Steam blowing of HRSG-2A was completed on 29.1.2001. TG erection for ST unit B&C were commenced in 4/2000 and 6/2000, respectively.
Parli TPS Extn. St.I 250 The investment approval has been accorded by Planning Commission on 9.2.2001.
Ghatghar TPS 2x125 All major civil works except of dam have been awarded and are in progress. TG sets ordered and model test on pump-turbine conducted.
Bhivpur PSS 90 Project to be executed by Tatas involves utilisation of waters of Krishna river which is governed by Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal award. Dispute among Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka not yet resolved and works not yet started.
(c) : As on 28.2.2001, no Detailed Project Report (DPR) in Maharashtra is pending in
CEA for accord of TEC.
(d) & (e) : The response to the private power policy initiated by the Government has
been positive and at present 57 projects of around 29500 MW capacity (including those
being set up by foreign companies) have been accorded Techno-economic Clearance
(TEC) by Central Electricity Authority (CEA). As on June, 2000, the total foreign
investment made by Independent Power Producers (IPPs) has been of the order of
Rs.13585 crores.
