(a) whether Government is in process of integrating the
existing multifarious laws regulating food processing
industries since long;
(b) if so, the reasons for delay in the matter; and
(c) the time by which the integrated food laws are likely
to be brought before the Parliament?

(a) to (c): Keeping in view the multiplicity of food laws
regulating food processing industries, Government has
enacted an Integrated Food Law entitled “Food Safety and
Standards Act 2006†which has already been passed by the
Parliament, and notified on 24.8.06.
