Question : AYUSH Wellness Centres

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has any plan/scheme to open AYUSH Wellness Centres/AYUSH Kendras in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State/ UT-wise including Andhra Pradesh;

(c) whether the Government has received any request in this regard and if so, the details thereof along with action taken thereon; and

(d) the details of mechanism put in place for proper implementation of the said scheme in this regard?

ANSWER

(a) to (c): Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision for financial assistance to open AYUSH Wellness Centres in the country including Andhra Pradesh. Government of India has received proposals to open AYUSH Wellness Centres from different States/UTs including Andhra Pradesh through State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) and accordingly grant-in-aid has been released to them. Status of Grant-in-aid provided for opening AYUSH Wellness Centres State/UT-wise is furnished at Annexure - I.
(d): National AYUSH Mission (NAM) envisages an institutional mechanism governed by a Mission Directorate at National level and State AYUSH Society at the State level for proper implementation of the Scheme as furnished at Annexure - II.
