(a): whether the procedures prescribed for destruction of contraband seized by security forces is not being followed leading to re-circulation of such drugs in the market;
(b): if so, the steps being taken to ensure that the said procedures are fully implemented; and
(c): the details of the contraband seized and destroyed during the last three years?

(a) No Madam. GOI has prescribed detailed procedure for disposal of seized drugs under GSR notification 38(E) dated 16.01.2015 which is mandatory for all the drug law enforcement agencies.
(b) The seized drugs are disposed off only after obtaining order from the concerned court by the Drug Disposal Committee as specified in the guidelines or notifications in this regard.
(c) The details of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized and destroyed during the last three years are enclosed as Annexure-A & B.
