Question : Animal Welfare Board of India

(a) the date on which the Animal Welfare Board of India was established along with the details of its jurisdiction;
(b) the number of gaushalas /cowsheds recognised by the said Board, the funds provided for the functioning thereof, construction of tin sheds and ambulances during the last five years alongwith the year-wise and region-wise details thereof;
(c) whether applications for granting recognition and assistance received from the institutions/gaushalas in the State of Rajasthan are pending with the Board; and
(d) if so, the date from which the said applications are pending and the reasons for the delay/pendency along with the details thereof ?

STATEMENT REFERRED IN REPLY OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.22 PART (a) to (d) ON ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA

(a) The Animal Welfare Board of India was set up on 19.03.1962 and its jurisdiction is across India
(b) The Animal Welfare Board of India has recognized 3661 Animal Welfare Organizations including Gaushalas till date. The funds provided for functioning of the gaushala/cow shed, construction of sheds and purchase of ambulances during the last fiveyears is available at Animal Welfare Board of India Website at www.awbi.in However, a consolidated statement has been provided at Annexure-I.
(c) & (d) Yes. Sir. The list of pending applications of recognition and assistance in the state of Rajasthan along with the date and reasons for pendency is available at www.awbi.in However, a consolidated statement has been provided at Annexure-II.
