(a) the number of students fixed to avail benefits under National Service Scheme from Bihar at present;
(b) whether the Government of Bihar has send any proposal to
increase the said number;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps taken by the Union Government so far to approve the above proposal and the outcome thereof as on date?

(a) At present, the total allocated strength of National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers in the State of Bihar is 66800.
(b) The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has not received any proposal from Government of Bihar to increase the number of volunteers.
(c) & (d): Do not arise.
