(a) Whether the Government proposes to introduce the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for providing scholarship to SC and ST students for pursuing M. Phil and Ph.D. courses in the Universities across the country ;

(b) If so, the details thereof;

(c) Whether the Government has short listed the Institutes in this regard;

(d) If so, the details of the institutes earmarked for the purpose, State-wise;

(e) The quota reserved for women incumbents in such institutes;

(f) The mode of selection of candidates for admission to such institutes; and

(g) The time by which the scheme is likely to become operational?

(a) to (g) Yes sir. The government is in the process of formulating the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for providing scholarship to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students pursuing M.Phil and Ph. D. in the universities across the country. The scheme is likely to be announced during the current financial year.
