Question : STATE AGRICULTURE PLANS



(a) the number of States which have formulated State Agriculture Plans (SAPs) by enhancing allocations to agriculture and allied sectors in order to reverse the declining trend;

(b) the cumulative allocation for agriculture during 2009-10 as compared to the last fiscal year; and

(c) the details of the contribution made by agriculture and allied sector to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during each of the last three years, State-wise?

(a): Eighteen States have formulated SAPs.

(b): The cumulative allocation for Centrally Sponsored Schems, Central Sector Schemes and State Plan Schemes of Department of Agriculture was Rs.10105.67 crore for 2008-09 and Rs.11307.07 crore for 2009-10. Allocation made by the States for agriculture and allied sector in their State Plans was Rs.16735.99 crore in 2008-09 (actual) and Rs.18635.38 crore in 2009-10 (revised/approved outlay) as per information available as on 31.3.2010 in the Planning Commission.

(c): Details are as per Annexure-I.
