(a) whether the Government proposes to develop multipurpose berths to handle cargo at various major ports in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, port-wise;
(c) the time by which the said multipurpose berths are likely to be developed; and
(d) the benefits likely to accrue as a result, thereof?

(a) to(c):Yes, Madam. The detail of the multi-purpose berths being developed at various Major Ports are at Annexure.
(d) These projects will enhance the capacity of respective ports to handle a variety of cargoes and meet the requirement of the trade. This will also help reducing the pre-berthing detention time and turn round time of vessels at these ports.
