Question : Revenue from Metro Rails

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether there has been any increase in the revenue earned from Metro Rail Operations commenced to improve the transportation system in the cities;

(b) if so, the details thereof during the last three years;

(c) if not, the reasons for the losses incurred, city-wise;

(d) whether the Government proposes to award the metro operations on contractual basis in the cities incurring losses; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Yes, Madam. The details of revenue earned in five operational Metro Rail Projects, being implemented by special purpose vehicles which are 50:50 joint ventures of Central Government and respective state governments in last three years are as under:
