(a) whether the Government have received complaints that some firms are using ISI mark on their products without acquiring licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government against such firms?

(a): The Bureau of Indian Standards has been receiving complaints about the use of ISI mark by some firms on their products without obtaining licence form BIS.
(b): During the period 1.4.99 to 31.3.2000, 30 complaints were received, 16 searches and seizures carried out, 20 legal proceedings launched and 6 parties convicted.
