Question : Contribution to NCEF

(a) the contribution of the coal rich States in the country including Odisha for the enrichment of the National Clean Energy Fund during each of the last three years and the current year, State-wise;
(b) whether it is a fact that the beneficiaries have generally been the Western States where NCEF Corpus has been used to facilitate the generation of solar energy, if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Union Government proposes to provide the financial assistance to Odisha for the promotion of renewable energy in the State, if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Union Government proposes to assist the State Government for the implementation of storage hydro power plant by Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited in order to address the peak power requirement in the State and if so, the details thereof ?

(a): The details of contribution National Clean Energy Fund during each of the last three years and the current year are given as Annexure.
(b) & (c): No Madam. The Central Government provides various fiscal and financial incentives to the promotion of New and Renewable Energy across the country including the state of Odisha.
(d): As reported by Central Electricity Authority, one Pumped Storage Scheme (inherent source of peaking power) has been proposed by the state on existing Upper Indravati HEP (600 MW) in Odisha for which DPR is to be prepared by WAPCOS.
