(a) the steps taken by the Government for the plantation of new trees / medicinal trees on the both sides of the National Highways passing through in the different States, State-wise during the Tenth Five Year Plan period; and
(b) the details thereof along with the funds earmarked for the same ?

(a)and(b) Government has a policy for the plantation of trees, including medicinal trees, along the National Highways. The provisions for plantation of trees are made as part of various projects for development of National Highways. No separate funds are earmarked for this purpose.
