Question : Operational MSMEs in Kerala

(a) the details of operational Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kerala during the last five years;

(b) whether any MSMEs have been deregistered in Kerala during the said period;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to assist MSMEs facing the threat of closure due to the fall in consumer spending and lack of demand in the economy?

(a) to (c): The number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which had filed Entrepreneurs Memorandum Part-II in Kerala during 2014-15 was 14,906. As on 29.11.2019, the number of MSMEs registered in Kerala on Udyog Aadhaar Portal after September 2015 is 1,05,298. The statistics of deregistered units is not centrally maintained.

(d): The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) implements various schemes to support promotion & development of MSMEs. These include Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Micro and Small Enterprises-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), Scheme for Promotion of MSMEs in North Eastern Region and Sikkim, Tool Rooms and Technology Centers, Mission Solar Charkha (MSC), Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme (ESDP), Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and Credit Linked Capital Subsidy and Technology Upgradation Scheme (CLCS-TUS).
