Question : Special Integrated Infectious Diseases Hospitals

(a) whether the Government proposes to set up Special Integrated Infectious Disease Hospitals for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of the funds allocated and utilized for the prevention of infectious diseases during the last two years, State/UT-wise including Uttrakhand and Bundelkhand in Uttar Pradesh?

(a) to (c): U¬¬nder PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, Government envisages to establish 50/75/100 bedded Critical Care Hospital Blocks in 602 districts, to provide diagnosis and treatment services for infectious diseases and to respond adequately during the public health challenges posed by the pandemics and in periods of epidemic outbreaks.
The financial total outlay for establishment of Critical Care Hospital Blocks under PM-ABHIM scheme during the period from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26 is Rs 19064.80 Crore. As public health & hospitals is a State subject, the implementation of the scheme lies with respective State /UT Governments. However, Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, provides technical and financial support to the states/UTs including the states of Uttarakhand & Uttar Pradesh for the implementation of PM-ABHIM. Allocation for establishment of 14 Critical Care Blocks in Uttarakhand (7 under PM ABHIM & 7 under ECRP-II) and 74 districts of Uttar Pradesh is provided under the scheme.
