Question : USE OF I.A.F. PLANES BY MINISTERS

(a) the amount of outstanding dues against former/present Prime Ministers, other Ministers as well as Political Parties as on date on account of using Defence aircraft;

(b) the date since when these dues are outstanding against each of them;

(c) the amount of recoveries made, if any, from any of the Ministers so far during the last three years;

(d) the status of the recent P.I.L. and subsequent High Courts orders in the matter of recovery of such dues; and

(e) the follow-up action taken or proposed to be taken thereon?

(a) to (c): A statement indicating details of airlift dues against former/present Prime Minister(s), Central Ministries/Departments and Political Parties for use of IAF aircraft together with recoveries effected during the last three years is laid on the Table of the House.

The details of outstanding amounts against Ministries/Departments are inclusive of the air effort provided to Ministers, as Air Hqrs are not maintaining separate accounts in the name of individual Ministers.

(d) & (e): As per Court’s directions, the matter is being pursued with the concerned Political Parties. Further action as per law will be taken, if required, for recovery of the dues.
