(a) & (b) Yes Sir. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry participated at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, recently held in Germany. An Indian Pavilion was set up at the Festival which provided a platform to popularize Indian cinema in the overseas market and facilitate new business opportunity.
The aim and objective was to promote Indian films across linguistic, cultural and regional diversity and establish multiple international collaborations in the space of distribution, production, filming in India, script development technology and to showcase India as an emerging film market and filming destination.
(c) & (d) Film Industry has an enormous role in tourism promotion and employment generation in the country. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has developed a web portal (https://www.ffo.gov.in) in The National Film Development Corporation, which functions as a single window facilitation mechanism to accord online permissions for film shooting in India, for both domestic and international film makers. Film Facilitation Office (FFO), NFDC of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is working to implement Government of India’s policy of ease of doing business and digital India for promoting skill development. Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has suggested all States and Union Territories to develop online single window facilitation system by developing web portal for granting local level shooting permissions and to integrate the same with FFO web portal.
(e) A three member delegation from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting headed by Joint Secretary (Films) participated at the 70th International Film Festival. The delegation met key stakeholders from the various verticals of Filmmaking with an aim to promote ease of doing film business in India, exploring co-production opportunities and inviting various stakeholders for 51st International Film Festival of India, Goa.
(f) With a view to promote co-production of films between Indian film makers and film makers of different countries, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting enters into audio visual Co-production Agreements with various countries. So far, the Government of India has entered into fifteen audio-visual Co-production Agreements with various countries.
