(a) whether the Government has introduced any scheme for modernization and renovation of sales outlets of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC);
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has set up/proposes to set up retail outlets of KVIC in foreign countries;
(d) if so, the details thereof along with their locations; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a)&(b): Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has been implementing a scheme for modernization and renovation of sales outlets of KVIC namely ‘Strengthening of Infrastructure of Existing Weak Khadi Institutions and Assistance for Marketing Infrastructure’ under which, financial assistance has been provided for renovation of khadi sales outlets of KVIC, Khadi and Village Industries Boards and Khadi Institutions. Under this scheme, the maximum amount of assistance for renovation of sales outlets is Rs.25 lakh for Departmental Sales outlets of KVIC, Rs.21.25 lakh for Departmental Sales outlets of State KVIBs, Rs. 18.75 lakh for institutional outlets located in metro cities and Rs. 15 lakh for institutional outlets located in non-metro cities.
