Question : APPOINTMENT ON COMPASSIONATE GROUND



(a) whether the Government are aware of the inordinate delay in giving jobs on compassionate grounds in the Allahabad division of Northern Railway;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government are aware of the fact that ITI or Diploma qualification was not mandatory in the selection process of Assistant Electrical Operator on compassionate ground in Allahabad Division so far, however, at present it has been made mandatory and the dependents of deceased employees are being deprived of jobs;

(d) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(e) whether any action is likely to be taken by the Government to abolish the said condition so that the dependents of the deceased can be selected for the above said post?

(a) & (b) Efforts are made to process expeditiously the cases for appointments on Compassionate ground. However, delays take place sometimes on account of lack of documentation, late submission of application, applicant being minor at the time of death or non-availability of suitable vacancy etc.

(c) to (d) The qualifications prescribed for appointment on compassionate ground are the same as qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment, which have been laid down by this Ministry.
