Question : NET FOR SC ST STUDENTS

(a) whether the financial assistance is being rendered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to SC/ST students for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and the UGC-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR);

(b) if so, the details thereof and the number of beneficiaries under the NET, University-wise;

(c) whether the UGC is granting scholarship/incentives to those students who are attending such free remedial coaching facilities; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Yes, Sir. University Grants Commission (UGC) provides the Financial Assistance to eligible universities under the scheme of coaching for National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe students under Merged Scheme during XI Plan period.
