(a) whether the Railways propose to construct rail over bridges at First and Second Railway gates
at Tiruppur Railway Station, Chikkana college, Koolipalayam Railway gate and Vanjipalayam Railway
gate; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Railways in this regard?

(a) & (b): Construction of Road Over Bridge at first Railway gate at Tirupur Railway Station:
The proposal for construction of Road Over Bridge is in lieu of LC 133 at km. 441/10-12 between
Uthukuli-Thirupur stations in Erode-Coimbatore-Podanur section of Salem division. The work has
already been sanctioned and included in 2007-08 Railways Works Programme.Presently, the work is
in planning stage.
Construction of Road Over Bridge at second Railway gate at Tirupur Railway Station:
The request for construction of Road Over Bridge is in lieu of LC 132 (SRC Mill Gate @
km.440/26-28) between Uthukuli-Thirupur stations on Erode-Coimbatore-Podanur section of Salem
division . The work has already been sanctioned and included in 2007-08 Railways Works Programme.
The General Arrangement drawing has been sent to State Government for concurrence.
Near Chikanna College:
The proposal for construction of ROB at Rly.Km.445/19-21 between Tiruppur and Vanjipalayam Railway
Stations (Chikkanna College) has already been sanctioned on Deposit Terms. The General
Arrangement Drawing has been sent to Chief Engineer/Highways for concurrence.
Near Koolipalayam Railway gate:
The proposal for construction of Road Over Bridge is in lieu of LC 131@ km. 438/4-6 between
Uthukuli-Thirupur stations. The traffic density at this level crossing (LC) is 100464 train
vehicle units. State Govt. has not sponsored proposal for replacement of LC by ROB on cost sharing
basis. List of eligible LCs has been sent to them which also includes LC No. 131.
Near Vanjipalayam Railway gate:
The proposal for construction of Road Over Bridge is in lieu of LC 134 @ km.441/10-12 between
Uthukuli-Thirupur stations. The work has already been sanctioned and included in 2007-08 Railways
Works Programme. The General Arrangement drawing has been sent to State Government for concurrence.
