(a) and (b) The Mahanadi Coalfields has requested for diversion of 3,712.89 acres (1,515.464 hectares) of forest land for 12 mining projects in Orissa. Out of these, the approval for diversion of 3643.13 acres (1,486.989 hectares) has already been granted in respect of 11 proposals. Remaining 1 proposal involving proposed diversion of 69.76 acres (28.475 hectares) was incomplete and was returned to the State Government.
