Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI MANOJ SINHA)

(a) to (d) Owing to operational and resource constraints, at present, increase in the frequencies of 12569/12570 Jaynagar-Anand Vihar (T) Garib Rath (bi-weekly), 16733/16734 Rameswaram-Okha Express (weekly), 17017/17018 Rajkot-Secunderabad Express (Tri- weekly) and 18103/18104 Tatanagar-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express (bi-weekly) to daily and speeding up of 18103/18104 Tatanagar-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express so as to make it a superfast train, is not feasible.

As per norms laid down in the Catering Policy 2010, provision for attachment of pantry cars is based on order of priority with first priority to Duronto and Rajdhani Express trains; followed by long distance premier, superfast trains; Mail & Express trains with more than 24 hours journey time either way; and lastly for the remaining trains, with preference to those trains in which vestibules are provided.

(e) With a view to cater to the needs of passengers of Baramula-Budgam-Banihal sector, 4 pairs DEMU services have been introduced on the Budgam-Banihal section w.e.f 05.07.2014.
