Question : AMOUNT SPENT ON ROADS CULVERTS IN RAJASTHAN



(a) The amount proposed to be spent on the National Highways in Rajasthan during 2000-2001 ;

(b) the head-wise expenditure proposed to be incurred on various heads such as construction of roads and culverts and increasing the lanes etc;

(c) the total expenditure proposed to be incurred on the National Highways projects falling in Bundi and Kota Baran districts;

(d) the break-up of expenditure likely to be increased on construction of roads and culverts in these districts separately;

(e) the number and name of culverts in these districts which are proposed to be elevated and the time by which this work is likely to be completed ;

(f) whether some culverts are still to be elevated in those districts ;and (g) if so, the names thereof and the time by which these culverts are likely to be elevated?

(a): The amount allocated to be spent on the National Highways in State of Rajasthan, during the year 2000-2001 is as under:


(i) National Highways (Original Works) Rs. 120.61 crores.

(ii) Maintenance and Repair Rs. 43.07 crores.
Total: Rs. 163.68 crores
(b)&(c): Funds for development of National Highways are allocated to the States as a whole and not head-wise/districts wise.
(d): Does not arise.
(e): No provision for elevation of culverts has been provided in the Annual Plan 2000-2001.
(f)&(g) No proposal has been received from the State Government.
