(a)&(b): The District Industries Centres (DICs) have been set up in the districts by the State Governments operate under respective State budgetary provisions. The primary responsibility for restructuring of DICs lies with the respective State Governments. As DICs form the bedrock of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) promotion, the Prime Minister’s Task Force on MSMEs had recommended their strengthening and revamping to play a more proactive role in this regard. The Ministry of MSME is implementing a scheme, “Collection of Statistics and Computerization of DICs” under which funds are provided for computerization of DICs.
