Will the Minister of Urban Development be please to state:
a) Whether the Government has organized a conclave on Urban Renaissance to interact with various agencies of the States recently;
b) if so, whether the steps for effective implementation of the urban renewal and governance initiatives were discussed in the conclave;
c) if so, the details thereof; and
d) the details of the present status of the implementation of urban renewal and governance initiatives in the country?

(a): No Madam, No such conclave has been organized by this Ministry.
(b) &(c): Question does not arise.
(d): The Ministry is implementing the following programmes for urban renewal and governances:-
i. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for 500 cities.
ii. Smart Cities Mission for 100 cities.
iii. National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY).
The AMRUT has a reform agenda for urban governance which includes e-governance, augmenting double entry accounting, review of building bye-laws, credit rating of the Urban Local Bodies improvement in levy and collection of user charges etc.
