Question : LOSS PROFIT OF AAI



(a) the details of loss and profit of Airport Authority of India as on March 31, 2002;

(b) manpower strength-both regular and casual with Airport Authority of India as on March 31, 2002;

(c) whether the Airport Authority personnel are professionally trained by International agencies to manage and supervise the Airport administration; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) :- Airports Authority of India (AAI) has earned a Profit Before Tax of Rs.476.98 crores during 2001-2002.


(b) :- As on 31st March, 2002 AAI had 20,895 regular and 13 casual employees.


(c) & (d) :- AAI organizes professional/ technical workshops/ seminars from time to time, including with the help of International Agencies such as International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Airports Council Internationale (ACI). 33 officials from AAI participated in the ICAO Workshop on `Air Traffic Forecasting and Airport Master Planning` from 21st to 25th March 2000. 19 Officials of AAI participated in ICAO Trainair `Course Developer Seminar` from 29th April to 4th May, 2001. 28 Officials of AAI participated in ACI Seminar `Benchmarking of Airport Services` from 11th to 16th March, 2002. These programmes were conducted by AAI in India at its own Institute. AAI also provides in house training to its human resources by conducting professional programmes at National Institute of Aviation Management and Research (NIAMAR), Civil Aviation Training College, Regional Training Centres, Airports and other Training Centres of AAI.
