Question : AREA OF N.C.R.P. BOARD



(a) whether National Capital Region Planning Board has sent a demand for inclusion of Aligarh, Mathura and Muzaffarnagar districts of Uttar Pradesh in the N.C.R.P. Board;

(b) if so, whether similar requests from other States have been received by the Government;

(c) if so, the reaction of the Government in this regard; and

(d) the time by which a final decision is likely to be taken in this regard?

(a)to(d): The N.C.R. Planning Board has been receiving requests from the State Governments for inclusion of additional areas in National Capital Region. The Board has agreed in principle to include additional areas in the National Capital Region. The participating State Governments have submitted their proposals for inclusion of 38,401 sq.km. of additional area in the National Capital Region as per details given below:-

HARYANA SUB-REGION:

The districts of Bhiwani, Karnal and Mahendragarh; tehsils of Jind and Saffidon of Jind district and tehsils of Hansi and Narnaund of Hissar district covering an area of 12,312 sq. km.

RAJASTHAN SUB-REGION:

The whole of the district of Dholpur and Bharatpur; remaining seven tehsils of Alwar district and Kotputli and Shahpura tehsils of Jaipur district covering an area of 15,007 sq.km.

U.P. SUB-REGION:

The whole of the district of Muzaffarnagar, Mathura and Aligarh covering an area of 11,082 sq. km.

The matter is now to be decided in the next meeting of the NCR Planning Board.
