Question : AYUSH CGHS Wellness Centres

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the number of AYUSH CGHS wellness centres available in the Country, particulary in Uttar Pradesh, district-wise;

(b) the number of AYUSH wellness centres under consideration in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Lucknow, districtwise;

(c) the details of medical and associated staff strength sanctioned including doctors in the AYUSH Wellness Centres in Uttar Pradesh and the actual deployment thereof;

(d) the details of employment generated through AYUSH in Uttar Pradesh during the last three years; and

(e) the amount spent through AYUSH in Uttar Pradesh for training of youth during each of the last three years?

(a): Details of AYUSH CGHS Wellness Centres in India and in Uttar Pradesh (District-wise) are at Annexure-I.
(b): Posts of Medical Officer (AYUSH) have been sanctioned by the Government for setting up of new Ayurvedic Units and Homeopathic Units under CGHS, including 1 Ayurvedic Unit and 1 Homeopathic Unit each at Noida, Greater Noida, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Indirapuram in Uttar Pradesh. The process of recruitment of Medical Officers (AYUSH), which is done by Ministry of AYUSH, has been initiated.

(d): Ministry of AYUSH is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission through States/ UTs including Uttar Pradesh and providing financial assistance for development and promotion of AYUSH systems as per the proposal submitted by States/ UTs in their State Annual Action Plans. During last three years, Rs. 266.01 crore have been released to the State Government of Uttar Pradesh which resulted in the development and promotion of AYUSH System including generation of employment. However, data regarding employment generation is not being maintained centrally, as it is a State subject.
(e): No amount has been spent through AYUSH in Uttar Pradesh for training of youthduring each of the last three years.
