MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI JITENDRA SINGH)

(a): Yes, Madam.

(b) & (c): Deployment of UAVs will depend on factors such as operational requirement and available intelligence inputs. It is, therefore, not possible to give a time-line in this regard.

(d): The Central Government has adopted an integrated two – pronged approach to deal with left wing extremism. The first prong is development. The Integrated Action Plan with an outlay of Rs. 1500 crors in 2010-11 and Rs. 1800 crores in 2011-12 is an example of the development plans that are being implemented in the affected districts. The second prong is maintenance of law and order, and the State Governments, with the assistance of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have been taking calibrated police action to deal with Left Wing Extremists.
