Question : AGREEMENT ON CONSTRUCTION OF DAM

(a) whether any tripartite agreement has been reached among Chhattisgarh, Orissa and the Union Government after the creation of Chhattisgarh for the construction of dam/checking or restraining the flow of Indravati River Water or any other river flowing from Orissa towards Chhattisgarh;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any agreement regarding flow of river water from Orissa towards Chhattisgarh is under consideration of both the States and the Union Government; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) No, Sir.

(b) Does not arise.

(c) & (d) To resolve the dispute 3 inter-State meetings have been held between Governments of Orissa and Chhattishgarh but no final agreement on sharing of flow of Indravati has been reached. The Central Government is making all efforts to amicably resolve the issue with the cooperation of the two State Governments.
