Question : Setting up of Indian Medical Service (IMS) Cadre

(a) whether the Government proposes to set up the Indian Medical Service (IMS) Cadre in line with the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS);
(b) if so, the details thereof along with its proposed salient features;
(c) whether the Government has consulted various States/UTs in this regard and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the time by which the new IMS Cadre is likely to be created?
