(a) Details of the major horticulture products grown and marketed in Jharkhand are at Annexure I.
(b) Details of physical achievements including post harvest management in Jharkhand under the major components of MIDH from 2014-15 to 2020-21 is as under:
• Area Expansion: An additional area of 35,078 ha has been covered under horticulture crops.
• Nurseries: - 6 new nurseries have been established for production of quality planting material.
• Protected Cultivation: An area of 2487 ha has been covered under protected cultivation.
• Water Resources: - 173 water harvesting structures have been created
• Beekeeping: 41800 bee colonies with hives have been distributed.
• Post Harvest Management: Under the component of Post Harvest Management, 2673 units including pack houses, cold storage units, refrigerated vans, primary/ mobile processing units, ripening chambers, pre cooling units attach to cold storages and mobile pre cooling units have been established.
• Training of Farmers: Under HRD component, 39430 farmers have been trained various horticulture activities.
During 2014-15 to 2020-21, an amount of Rs. 291.36 crore has been allocated to Jharkhand and out of which an amount of Rs. 160.11 crore has been released as per request of the State Government.
(c) The major horticulture commodities being exported are Banana, Orange, Grapes, Mango, Onion, Potato & Tomato etc. and the major horticulture commodities being imported are fruit/vegetable seeds, fresh fruits and vegetables, processed vegetables and processed fruits and juices. During the last decade 200 Lakh MT of horticulture commodities worth Rs. 52601 crore have been exported and 112 Lakh MT of horticulture commodities worth Rs. 126589 crore have been imported.
