(a) the number of consumer courts in the country, State-wise;
(b) the number of cases registered in these courts during last year and the number of
cases disposed-off alongwith the number of such cases which were decided against the consumers out of them, during the last two years, State-wise;
(c) whether the Government propose to start new consumer forums in various States in
the near futures; and
(d) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a) : The number of Consumer Disputes Redressal Agencies (Consumer Forums)
set up under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in the States and UTs is given in
Annexure-I.
(b) : The State-wise position regarding number of cases filed in and
disposed of by the Consumer Forums, as furnished by the National Commission, is
given in Annexure-II. Information regarding the number of cases decided by the
Consumer Forums against the consumers is not maintained.
(c) & (d): According to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, it is
the responsibility of every State/UT to set up at least one District Forum in each district
and a State Commission.
