Question : Army Welfare Education Society

(a) whether the Army Welfare Education Society has violated the rules by not replying or keeping pendency of letters received from public representatives regarding admission of civilians ward in army schools located in Delhi headquarters;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Army Welfare Education Society discriminates with the wards of civilians in comparison with wards of Army studying in these schools including charging higher school fees and denying them school bus facility;

(d) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): No such instance has come to the notice of this Ministry.

(c) to (e): There is a priority provision for wards of serving defence personnel for admission in the Army Public School. Fee structure has been decided based on rank of the Army personnel / Ex-servicemen and the class in which the students are undertaking their study. In terms of Army Instruction, free bus facilities (Defence Department Vehicles) are authorized to wards of Officers / JCOs / OR and wards of Ex-servicemen / Defence Civilians only.
