(a) the number of students in the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in the country, State-wise, Vidyalaya-wise;
(b) the details of the teachers and the library staff employed in these schools during the last three years and the current year, State-wise, Vidyalaya-wise; and
(c) the measures taken/being taken by the Government for effective functioning of KVs/ JNVs and to maintain high standard of school education?

(a) A total number of 1174819 students in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and 241182 students in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) were enrolled in the academic year 2014-15 . The state wise breakup is at Annexure-I. The school wise breakup of enrollment may be seen at the website, www. kvsangathan.nic.in for KVs, and www. nvshq.org for JNVs.
(b) The total number of teachers and library staff employed in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) during the last three years and the current year may be seen at Annexure-II. The state wise and school-wise details of teachers and library staff can be seen at the website, www.kvsangathan.nic.in for KVs, and www. nvshq.org for JNVs.
(c) To maintain high standards in school education, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti have been recruiting teachers, providing regular in-service training to teachers, using ICT in schools, organizing regular sports and cultural activities, as well as organizing regular academic and knowledge enhancing programmes and activities from time to time. The Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas Class XII results have shown steady improvement viz 97.37% and 97.67% in the year 2014 for KVs and JNVs respectively.
