Question : LESS UTILISATION OF BUDGET ALLOCATION

(a) whether Ministry of Food Processing Industries have utilized only 30% of its budget allocation for the year 2006- 07; and

(b) if so, the reasons for not utilizing the full budgetary allocation by the Ministry?

(a) & (b): No, Sir; the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has utilized 89.82% of the budget allocated in the revised estimates for the year 2006-2007 till February, 2007. Against an allocation of Rs.150 crores in the revised estimates for the year 2006-2007, under plan expenditure, the Ministry has utilized Rs.134.73 crores till 28th February, 2007. The Ministry has also requested for additional allocation for the current year to the extent of Rs.181.70 crores.
