(a) whether a large number of closed handloom units have been made functional during the last three years;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has provided any package to revive the handloom sector in the country during the last three years;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the funds allocated to Madhya Pradesh for this purpose?

(a)&(b) It is endeavor of the Government of India, Ministry of Textiles that the closed handloom units shall become functional and the Ministry is implementing following schemes in this direction for development of handloom sector and welfare of weavers across the country:-
1) National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP)
2) Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS)
3) Handloom Weavers’ Comprehensive Welfare Scheme (HWCWS)
4) Yarn Supply Scheme (YSS)
Under the above schemes, financial assistance is provided for raw materials, purchase of looms and accessories, design innovation, product diversification, infrastructure development, skill upgradation, marketing of handloom products, loan at concessional rates etc.
(c)&(d) The Government of India, Ministry of Textiles is providing financial assistance to the eligible handloom agencies under the above schemes for development and strengthening the handloom sector across the country. A statement showing scheme-wise funds released in the last three years is at Annexure-I.
(e) Details of funds released to the handloom agencies of Madhya Pradesh in the last three years are as under:-
