(a) Ministry through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is implementing its flagship schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) on pan India basis to cover the prospective youths. PMKVY enables large number of prospective youths for taking short term fresh training and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) through accredited and affiliated training partner/training centers. The state-wise details of women and men enrolled under PMKVY are given at Annexure I.
(b) Ministry has undertaken various measures to encourage greater participation of industry in skilling ecosystem especially in skill training. Government has developed and designed dynamic and demand driven curriculum & standards through industry led – Sector Skill Council. These curriculum are aligned with latest National Occupational Standard (NOS)/ Qualification Packs (QPs).On the other hand, industries are encouraged to participate as training partners to run the high employment potential courses through appropriate accreditation and affiliation framework.
Under flagship scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), industries are actively participating as training partner/centre in training- cum- placement activities of the candidates. Scheme incentivises Training Centers (TCs) for facilitating placement of the trained candidates. TCs are mandated to organize Placement / Rozgar Melas every six months with support from the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) and to ensure participation of local industry. Under the PMKVY Scheme, the prospective youth candidates are targeted to impart skill Training. Post placement support of Rs. 1450 per month per trainee is applicable for Special groups (which includes women and PWD candidates)/Special Areas (includes NE states, J&K, LWE regions and others) for 2 or 3 months depending on Placement within or outside the District of Domicile of the candidate.

(d) For full effective implementation of PMKVY Scheme, several measures including Digital initiatives have been taken to enhance the transparency and accountability, changes in the area of center validation, job roles, trainee handbooks, certificate, attendance and finance related have been incorporated. Under Skill development training process, digitalization achieved with the introduction of SMART portal as one stop solution for all centre accreditation and affiliation process, SDMS for monitoring of fund disbursement, Assessment Apps for assessment of candidates, Skill Up App for mobilization of candidates, Digi-Locker for integration of candidates and their digital certificates, Labour Market Information System (LMIS) for repository of digital employment actions details of the skilled candidates and socio-economy data etc.
(e) Under PMKVY 2015-16, 18,01,936 candidates under Fresh Training and, 1,80,511 for RPL have been trained. The State wise number of beneficiaries under PMKVY is given at Annexure-II.
