Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES
(SHRI RAMESWAR TELI)

(a): The Ministry of Food Processing Industries does not set up any food processing industries/ units/projects/plants on its own or through any partnership or collaboration. Under the Central Sector Scheme – PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA - (PMKSY), it provides financial assistance as capita subsidy in the form of grants-in-aid to the individuals, farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Entrepreneurs, Cooperatives, Societies, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Private Companies and Central/ State PSUs etc. for setting up of food processing industries/ units/ projects in the country. The schemes under PMKSY are demand driven and financial assistance is provided to the eligible applicants against the Expression of Interest issued by the MoFPI from time to time.

(b): The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is already funding skill development training programmes for various sectors including food processing under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
