(b)to(d):Yes, Madam. Ministry of Shipping has taken up with Ministry of Defence recently to place defence shipbuilding orders with M/s. Cochin Shipyard Limited, Kochi. Ministry of Defence has informed that various defence shipyards engaged in warship building projects are being encouraged to offload part of their work to other shipyards. The contract for the phase II of the IAC was signed on 16 Dec. 2014 envisaging completion of Phase II work i.e. completion of Diesel Alternator Trials by 2016. The contracted value is Rs.2848 Crores. The contract for 20, Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) for the Coast Guard was signed by CSL with the Ministry of Defence on October 20, 2010 with delivery of the 20th vessel scheduled on19th March, 2017. The value of the contract is approximately Rs.1509 Crores.
