Question : FAKE IAS TRAINEE



(a) whether a case of a women living for six months in the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration posing herself as an IAS officer in a fraudulent manner has recently surfaced;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken against the guilty officers and staff in this regard; and

(c) the details of effective steps taken by the Government to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in such a top training institutions in the country?

(a) & (b): A woman was caught living in the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie staff quarters allotted to security guard, Shri Deb Singh. She had at times declared herself to be an IAS Officer and sometimes called herself an employee of the Ministry of Textiles. It came to the notice of the Academy on 27th March, 2015 that Shri Deb Singh, a security guard has sublet his staff quarter to this lady. When the lady tried to enter the premises of LBSNAA on 29th March, 2015, she was stopped and asked about her identity. She told that she is Ms Ruby Chaudhary daughter of Shri Satveer Singh and was staying in residential quarter allotted to Shri Deb Singh, the security guard as a paying guest since 16th January, 2015.

The Security Guard has been placed under suspension and departmental enquiry has been initiated against him for subletting Government Quarter.

(c): Government has directed the LBSNAA to increase its vigilance and tighten its security mechanism to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future.
