(d) As per World Bank policy to augment skilled manpower and modernise technology and equipment, International bidding has been considered for the procurement of internationally experienced Construction Supervision Consultancies/Authority Engineers and construction companies. Codes/standards for Highways and Bridges have been updated to incorporate modern technologies through World Bank technical assistance. In addition, the technical assistance component includes the provisions for training, road safety and institutional development also.
