Question : Construction of ICPs

(a) whether the Government has sanctioned the construction of 13 Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) in November, 2018;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the timeline of the project;

(c) the current status and details of the ICPs being constructed along the border areas along with the facilities to be provided at each ICP, State-wise;

(d) the funds sanctioned, released and utilised for the Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) during each of the last three years;

(e) whether the Government proposes to take up construction of additional Integrated Check Posts; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) On 17th December, 2018, approval was accorded inter-alia for Development of 03 Integrated Check Posts (ICPs), at Rupaidiha, Sutarkandi

and Sunauli at an estimated cost of ?847.72 crores by 31/03/2021 alongwith ‘in-principle’ approval for acquisition of land and preparation of detailed Engineering Report (DER) by Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) for developing ICPs at the remaining 10 locations i.e., at (i) Ghojadanga, West Bengal (Bangladesh border) (ii) Changrabandha, West Bengal (Bangladesh border) (iii) Fulbari, West Bengal (Bangladesh border) (iv) Mahadipur, West Bengal (Bangladesh border) (v) Hili, West Bengal (Bangladesh border) (vi) Jaigaon, West Bengal (Bhutan border) (vii) Panitanki, West Bengal, (Nepal border) (viii) Banbasa, Uttarakhand (Nepal border) (ix) Bhitamore, Bihar (Nepal border) (x) Kawrpuichhuah, Mizoram (Bangladesh border).

(c) The current status and details of the ICPs being constructed along the border areas is annexed. The facilities provided at ICPs include Passenger Terminal with Customs & Immigration facilities, Health & quarantine facilities, Bank/Foreign Exchange Bureau, Public convenience, parking etc while Cargo Terminal has Customs facilities, Weigh Bridge, Driver Rest Area, Parking, Quarantine facilities etc. The ICPs also have CCTV surveillance, Accommodation for security personnel, Public Address System, ATMs etc.

(d) The funds sanctioned, released and utilized for the Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) during each of the last three years is given below;.
