(a) the details of the Direct-to-Home (DTH) services companies working in the country at present;
(b) the criteria and terms and conditions prescribed for granting DTH licence;
(c) whether the Government proposes to grant licence to more DTH companies;
(d) if so, the details thereof along with the number of companies applied for this; and
(e) the details of revenue earned by granting such licence during each of the last three years?

(a) The Ministry has granted license to six private companies, namely, (i) M/s Dish TV India Limited (ii) M/s. Tata Sky Limited (iii) M/s. Sun Direct TV Pvt. Limited (iv) M/s. Reliance BIG TV Limited (v) M/s. Bharti Telemedia Limited, and (vi) M/s. Videocon d2h Limited to provide Direct to Home (DTH) services in India under the DTH Guidelines issued on 15.3.2001, as amended from time to time. In addition, Doordarshan as Public Broadcaster is also providing free to air DTH services in the country.
(b) to (d) DTH licenses, under the DTH guidelines, are granted to those Companies which fulfill the eligibility criteria, terms and conditions and are subject to security clearance and technical clearances by the appropriate authorities of the Government. There is no restriction on the total number of DTH licenses. The details are available on the website of this Ministry at www.mib.gov.in. Presently no new application has been received in the Ministry for grant of DTH license.
(e) The details of revenue received during the last three years are as follows:
2014-15 : Rs.836.52 crores
2015-16 : Rs.816.15 crores
2016-17 : Rs.747.78 crores
