Question : Residential Norms for UTsof Ladakh and J&K

(a) whether the Government has any proposal to fix residential norms for the people residing in the newly created Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) whereas different States are having different norms;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government will allow the companies and public sector undertakings to purchase land irrespective of residential norms to be prescribed for the local population;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(e) whether the Government will allow exemption to certain categories of people and corporate houses; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (b) The Government has notified the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Adaptation of State Laws) Second Order, 2020 on 03.04.2020 vide which Domicile

norms for purposes of appointment to any post in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir had been notified. The domicile norms for Union territory of Ladakh are yet to be notified.
(c) to (f): Such decisions are taken by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh based on prevailing laws in these Union Territories.
