Question : OUTSTANDING DUES OF ANDHRA PRADESH TOWARDS ESIC



(a) the details of the amount of Andhra Pradesh outstanding towards ESI Corporation, New Delhi on account of Insurance Medical Charges since 1995-96 which has caused difficulty to the State Government in settling the bills of Super Speciality Hospitals;

(b) whether the Union Government have issued any instructions to ESI Corporation to liquidate the dues at an early date; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR (SHRI MUNI LALL)

(a) to (c): ESIC has already paid its share of payment towards medical benefit to the State of Andhra Pradesh from 1995-1996 to 1998-1999. For the year 1999-2000 and 2000-2001, 90% of the advance payment to the tune of Rs.2136.44 lakh and Rs.2469.34 lakh respectively have been paid. The remaining 10% amount will be paid soon after the clarification on audit certificate is received from the State Government.
