(a) whether the Union Government have received representations about the living
conditions of dispersed tribals and their economic needs;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the issues raised in these representations alongwith the reaction of the
Government thereto;
(d) the reasons for not sending any officer/team to assess the problem of dispersed
tribals; and
(e) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to solve the problems of
dispersed tribals?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b)&(c) This Ministry has received representation from Dr. Pullarao regarding lack of
drinking water and housing facilities for dispersed tribals in West Godavari
district of Andhra Pradesh.
(d) The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment had deputed one officer to
West Godavari District during November 9-11, 1998 to assess the problems of
dispersed tribals.
(e) The State Government has been advised to utilize a portion of funds out of
Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan for dispersed tribals to meet their
needs.
