Question : COMPUTERISED TICKET RESERVATION SYSTEM



(a) The number of Railway Stations provided with computerised ticket reservation system in all over the country, state-wise;

(b) whether there is any proposal to provide this facility in the remaining railway stations in near future;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor ?

(a) Computerised reservation centres are functional at 670 locations as on 15-11-2001. These include Stations, satellite locations within cities and outlying non-rail head locations.

(b) to (d): Provision of computerised reservation facilities is an ongoing process. More and more stations are covered with these facilities every year depending upon availability of funds. In addition to 670 locations where computerised reservation facilities are already available, work is underway for provision of these facilities at a further 99 stations.
