(a) : Yes Sir, the two documents titled ‘Preschool Curriculum’ and ‘Guidelines for Pre-
School Education’ developed by NCERT emphasise upon integrated early learning
wherein issues like gender equality, value education, etc. are interwoven through playful
pedagogical practices.
(b) : The documents titled ‘Guidelines for Pre-School Education’ and ‘Preschool
Curriculum’ aim at helping the teachers, administrators, policy planners and other
stakeholders to provide good quality preschool education to children. The guidelines
present the parameters for infrastructure, monitoring and supervision mechanism and
importance of coordination and convergence with community and parents. The curriculum
has been designed for three years of preschool before class-I, which highlights goals, key
concepts/ skills, pedagogical processes and early learning outcomes for Preschool I, II and
III. It also suggests ways of planning a preschool programme, classroom organizations and
management, assessment and building partnership with parents and community.
(c) : NCERT or Ministry of Human Resource Development have not issued any
directives to schools to not to thrust English on the Children.
(d) : NCERT has always been giving emphasis on promoting sensitivity towards diverse
needs of students and also addressing diverse needs of children. The syllabi, textbooks
and training material include these concerns in the content, illustration and assessment
exercises.
(e) : The Integrated Scheme for School Education- Samagra Shiksha was launched in
2018-19 by Ministry of Human Resource Development. Under Samagra Shiksha, the
preschool programme gives emphasis to create amicable learning atmosphere for students
at pre-school level, MHRD has provided suggestive action points to the States and UTs in
the draft framework of Samagra Shiksha to ensure the implementation of Early Childhood
Education (ECE) with developmentally appropriate curriculum and to focus on to
development of school readiness among children, by providing them safe, secure, healthy
and child friendly atmosphere in the pre-school.
